Dog Safe Strawberry and Banana Cupcakes topped with Whipped Cream for You and Your Pooch to Enjoy!

A couple of weeks ago, it was my little Chocolate’s 10th Birthday! Poor little thing, I was finally able to celebrate hers for the first time unlike Grizz-Lee’s whom I’ve celebrated for with friends and family HERE and HERE.
With the pandemic currently in play, I wanted to keep things fairly quiet and careful. I would have loved to have my friends and their pups over to celebrate with but that would take mixing a crowd in a home who didn’t all know each other well enough to be all together. I don’t think any of us are ready for that quite yet.

So I kept it solo and gave Chocolate the utmost attention she deserves! She LOVES snacks and is fond of many sweet fruits. What better way than to mix two of her favorites into tiny cute cupcakes of her size?

And let’s not forget the whipped cream; she’s obsessed with this stuff! This year, I’ve unintentionally enabled a habit that each time we go through a Starbucks drive-thru, I pick up a puppucino [whipped cream] for both to share. Grizz enjoys it but she goes nuts!
From the moment we approach the drive-thru window, like us [humans], she can smell the coffee and knows what she’s about to get. It’s quite hilarious because her five pound little body begins to quiver and she’ll start to pout while frantically waiting for that moment for me to turn around to hand over the cup. When she finally gets the cup, she then smushes her tiny head all the way inside taking huge gulps of the cream. One of the cutest acts she does!

Instead of having a carob, peanut butter or cream cheese frosting, I wanted to give her a light “frosting” that I know she already loves. Whipped cream is perfect to pair with fruits!
Like any cupcake recipe that we enjoy, I’ve made these in a way we can eat a cupcake or two with our furry ones! They’re lightly sweetened by using a small amount of honey rather than sugar and whole wheat flour to incorporate fiber. In the end, they enjoyed it and begged for more!

I love creating all sort of treats for them. It’s nice to break out of the mundane routine of sliced applies, blueberries, etc for something they rarely have. And I’m almost certain yours will too!
